Adriana Vilela

Coordinator for Latin America, the Caribbean and Macedonia .

Adriana Vilela has been with World Links since October of 2002. She has an M.A. in International Education Development with a focus in Instructional Technology from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York . Prior to joining World Links, she worked as an educator in the Argentinean Public Education system, serving as a secondary school teacher, principal, supervisor and curriculum developer along 25 years. She is co-founder and was co-coordinator of the TELAR ( iEARN Center ) National Schoolnet in Argentina for ten years. She has trained teachers in the use of ICTs in the curriculum in over 20 countries and has made presentations in international Education and Technology Conferences in more than 30 countries. She was in the team of main researchers for a study on successful school-based applications of ICTs among low-income and rural schools in Argentina in an IDRC-funded study. She was advisor to a new IDRC funded research on Schoolnets in Latin America in which World Links is a case study. At World Links she is in charge of country needs assessments for the integration of ICTs in education, planning and designing teacher professional development plans and strategies, and monitoring and evaluation of ongoing World Links programs.
